Thank you,
Remove the headunit by placing the 4 release keys into the slots in the corners of the head unit paying attention to the way round we have inserted them. The keys actually click into place when they have been inserted properly.
Next up the connector has to be disconnected so we can attach the new ISO lead. This is an easy job - pinch the retaining spring and pull/turn the lever towards yourself in the direction shown. This movement pulls the lead free from the headunit.
Pull the radio connector off - it'll might be a bit tough but use a bit of brute force and ignorance if needed.
Connect the ISO lead (shown on the left) to the vehicle's radio lead. This converts vehicle's lead into an ISO one which all aftermarket stereo's use.
Just close the clamp and it should fit snugly in place.
The Ford Focus stereo has an aerial connector that needs to be converted to a DIN connection (compatible with the vast majority of aftermarket manufacturers). Take the lead and plug it into the corresponding lead from the vehicle's loom.
During this tutorial the client was having an additional accessory fitted which meant we could not photograph this step. This was because the accessory came with it's own aerial adaptor.
Next, carefully insert the fasciaplate and press gently to make sure it's properly in place.
Slide the stereo's cage into place and bend the pegs of the cage to tightly grip the fascia - this will help keep the stereo firmly in place.
Connect the ISO lead up to the head unit and plug the aerial into the back of the head unit. If you have any other cables (to iPods, external amps etc) you should connect these up now too.
Then, making sure not to snag or trap any wires slowly slide the stereo into place.
If your new stereo came with any finishing trim, stick it on now. Ours has a nice silver trim which smartens it up.
After all your hard work it's time to give it a blast!
